KAMEE-TEK Water Treatment Solutions

HVAC water treatment solutions

Kamee-Tek runs the water treatment programmes behind South Africa's hospitals, hotels and manufacturing plants — Legionella risk managed to SANS 893, scale and corrosion controlled, and every month documented for audit.

Founded 2019 in partnership with AECI Water. Technical team servicing this industry for over 30 years.

Trusted in the buildings where water cannot fail.

Hospital theatres, hotel chiller plants, pharmaceutical manufacturing and food production — sites where a cooling tower out of specification is a clinical, regulatory and production problem before it is a maintenance one.

Untreated water is never a neutral choice.

A cooling system is a warm, aerated, nutrient-rich environment that concentrates whatever enters it. Left alone it does four things at once, and the maintenance budget only ever sees the last one.

Cooling tower water distribution system in operation
Legionella and the OHS Act
Cooling towers and evaporative condensers aerosolise water directly into the air around a building. South Africa manages that risk through SANS 893-1 and 893-2, and the duty of care sits with the employer. A documented treatment and monitoring regime is the evidence that duty was met.
Scale, and the energy it costs
Calcium carbonate deposits on condenser tubes act as insulation. The compressor compensates by working harder against a rising head pressure, and the plant draws more kilowatt-hours to deliver the same cooling — every hour it runs.
Corrosion and asset life
Dissolved oxygen, chlorides and low pH quietly consume tube walls, headers and pipework. The failure arrives as an unbudgeted capital replacement years before the design life, and never at a convenient moment.
Biofilm and lost capacity
Microbiological growth fouls fill and heat-exchange surfaces, shelters bacteria from biocide, and drags the whole system below design capacity. Chillers then run longer to hold setpoint — until one doesn't.

What we treat.

Programmes are built on the SUEZ and Hydrex ranges — locally produced by AECI and Brenntag, with manufacturer technical support behind every recommendation.

Water treatment plant basins in operation

Cooling water treatment

The core of the business. Corrosion and scale inhibition, biocide rotation, dispersant programmes and bleed control, held to a defined set of cycles of concentration so the system runs at design efficiency without wasting make-up water.

  • Corrosion and scale inhibitor programmes
  • Oxidising and non-oxidising biocide rotation
  • Legionella risk management to SANS 893
  • Cycles of concentration and bleed optimisation

Boiler water treatment

Oxygen scavenging, alkalinity and condensate-line control across steam plant — protecting tube metal, holding steam purity and keeping blowdown where it belongs.

Potable water treatment

Disinfection, filtration and storage management for drinking water systems, with the sampling record to show the water leaving the tank is the water that reaches the tap.

Waste water treatment

Effluent conditioning, clarification and sludge handling, set up to meet the discharge limits that apply to the site rather than a generic specification.

Purification & dosing systems

Reverse osmosis, softening and automated chemical dosing — specified, installed and then actually maintained, with control set to the programme rather than to a factory default.

Water treatment programmes

A written programme per system: what is dosed, at what rate, what is measured, at what frequency, and the action limits that trigger a response.

Technical consulting

Chemical engineers on commissioning, plant upgrades, persistent fouling and failure investigation — where the answer is a diagnosis, not a product.

Where we work.

Healthcare

Hospital groups where theatre and ward cooling cannot be taken offline and Legionella control is a patient-safety control, not a maintenance task.

How a Kamee-Tek programme runs.

The same five steps on every site, in the same order, so the result does not depend on who happens to be on the van that week.

  1. Site survey

We walk the plant, list every system, and take baseline water analysis — make-up, circulating and condensate. Nothing is specified before it is measured.

  2. Programme design

A written treatment programme per system: chemistry, dose rates, control ranges and action limits, sized to the actual load and water chemistry on that site.

  3. Dosing & control

Dosing equipment installed and commissioned, controllers set to the programme, and automated bleed tied to conductivity so the system holds its cycles.

  4. Service & monitoring

Scheduled site visits, on-site testing, dip slides and laboratory microbiology — with corrective action taken on the visit, not deferred to a report.

  5. Reporting

A monthly record per system showing results against the action limits, what was adjusted and why — the evidence file a compliance audit asks for.

A young company. A team that isn't.

Kamee-Tek was established in 2019 in partnership with AECI Water, but the technical team had already been servicing these same customers for decades inside the AECI group. Regional managers carry a minimum of 25 years in the industry — the reason a new name arrived with an existing client base.

Start with a site survey.

We will walk your plant, analyse the water and tell you what is actually happening in your systems — including the parts a treatment programme cannot fix. No obligation to appoint us afterwards.
